Explore Better User Stories and Planning Fixed-Price Projects

In the past 18 months, many people have embraced—and enjoyed—live, online training.

I understand the growing popularity: you have the convenience of learning wherever you are located, while also benefiting from the live interaction with an experienced trainer as well as other attendees. You can get your questions answered directly without the hassle of organizing travel or accommodation.

We plan a return to in-person training one day, and look forward to being in a room with you again. In the meantime, we’re developing more live and online courses.

I’m excited to announce two of these new courses today. Dates are still being planned for these classes, but you can sign up now to be notified as soon as we’re accepting registrations for the courses.

These new classes are:

Better User Stories, Live, Online (One-Day Class)

This one-day class takes you through the framework I use when coaching teams to improve their user stories.

It can turn a chaotic backlog into a well-ordered and clearly prioritized series of stories. You’ll understand what stories are, how to write them, split them, and add enough detail just in time.

And you’ll work on practical exercises and ask questions during the class, so you can leave the training with some great user stories already written.

Estimating and Planning Fixed-Price Agile Projects, Live, Online (One-Day Class)

The next new course will teach you—in one day—to plan any agile project.

Whether you want to create competitive bids, or just confidently state what, when, and how much will be delivered, this course will show you how.

I’m excited to offer this as a public class, because I’ve seen firsthand how many teams struggle with the following problems:

  • How do you create estimates if your team is new?
  • How can you manage stakeholder expectations?
  • Can you push back on demands without souring relationships? (Hint – yes you can)

This course doesn’t just show you how to estimate and plan, it shows you how to navigate real-world problems that can derail those plans.

When you can account for the unknown, avoid delays, and stay flexible while meeting commitments, you can transform the productivity of your team.

I’m looking forward to sharing my repeatable system for creating plans that deliver real value.
